On foot

The Cantal volcano is an excellent hiking area and is crossed by many hiking trails. It is also crossed by the GR® 4 which goes from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean and the GR® 400 which goes all around the Cantal volcano. The latter allows you to hike the whole territory for several days or to make daily loops.

For more information on the possible hikes, you can use our official application “Espace nature – Puy Mary” available on Android and iOS in order to have your itinerary continuously with you. You can also find information on our website Espace Nature – Puy Mary.

If you prefer paper, our topoguide published with Chamina is available on our online store as well as in our Site Houses.

By bike

Many cyclists tell us that our roads are beautiful and very pleasant for cycling.

If you want to go on a cycling trip, why not be inspired by Pierre’s car-free escapades? Thanks to his booklet, you can make a trip entirely by bike.

You want to cycle through the Cantal volcano, but you are afraid of the difference in altitude? Try the VAE (Vélo à Assistance Electrique).
