landscape, fruit of a combination of natural factors
(climate, volcanism, glaciations) and man’s input
(farming, etc.), is the primary wealth in the
Puy Mary massif.
The flora, blurred
in a flamboyant array of luminosity and fragrance,
and the high country fauna reminding us that nature
is protected here, are proof of the exceptional
environment on this site. |

Waterfalls, resulting from geological formation,
are another spectacular feature of the Grand Site’s
natural heritage. There are many examples spread homogeneously
throughout the territory and in particular at Dienne,
Lavigerie, Cheylade and Mandailles.
There are also several
lakes, ideal for fishing (Dienne, Lascelles, Le Claux),
testimony of the geologically complex past. |
